Caterpillar Calendar

Terms of use

Last updated: 23 September 2026

These are the terms for using Caterpillar Calendar. They're short on purpose. Using the app means you agree to them.

Caterpillar Calendar is operated by 314 Apps ("we", "us"). Questions: support@314-apps.com

1. What the service is

Caterpillar Calendar reads new email in a mailbox you connect and finds calendar events and to-dos in it. When it is confident about an event, it writes that event to the calendar you chose without asking you first. It then shows you the event in the Review tab, together with the email it came from, where you can keep it or remove it from your calendar. When it is not confident, the event waits in Review and nothing is written to your calendar until you add it. To-dos are never written to a calendar. How we handle the data that passes through is set out in the privacy policy, which is part of these terms.

2. Your account

You need to be an adult (18 or older) to use the app, and you sign in with Apple. You're responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping access to your Apple ID secure. One person, one account — don't share it.

3. The mailbox you connect

You may only connect a mailbox you own or are authorized to use. Connecting someone else's mailbox without their permission isn't something we can detect, but it isn't something you may do. You can revoke our access at any time from your Google account's security settings, or by deleting your account in the app.

4. What we ask of you

5. What the app produces

The events and to-dos are our best reading of your mail, made by software. Software misreads things. A date can be wrong, a time can be missed, and a message can be skipped. Caterpillar Calendar is an assistant, not a system of record. For anything that matters — a deadline, a payment, a pickup time — the email you received is the source of truth, not our version of it.

Events we add to your calendar belong to you. If you stop using the app, they stay where they are; we simply stop managing them.

6. Third-party services

The app depends on services we don't control — Google, Apple, our mailbox provider Nylas, our AI providers Anthropic and OpenAI, and our host, Amazon Web Services. Your use of Gmail and your calendar remains governed by your agreements with those companies. If one of them changes or breaks, parts of the app may change or break with it.

7. No warranty

The app is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind — express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't promise the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will find every event in your mail.

8. Limits on liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost profits, or a missed appointment, deadline or payment. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim, or 50 US dollars. Some places don't allow these limits; where that's true, they apply only as far as the law allows.

9. Ending it

You can stop at any time: Settings → Delete account. That erases what we hold, as described in the privacy policy.

We can suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if we're required to, or if we discontinue the service. If we shut the service down, we'll give reasonable notice in the app so you can export or keep what you need.

10. Changes

We may update the app and these terms. If a change to these terms is material, we'll update the date at the top and tell you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use the app after that means you accept the new terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be resolved by binding arbitration in accordance with applicable arbitration rules, with the venue being in the United States.
